ResumeGo Scholarship

Apply for our $3000 College Scholarship Program

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Our mission at ResumeGo, a company offering professional resume writing services, is to help people further their professional careers by giving them the best chance of getting hired by the companies they want to work for. However, furthering your career doesn’t begin with your job search, but rather with your education.

Unfortunately, going to college is expensive, and sometimes too expensive for some students. Paying off student loans and tuition fees can be a huge strain on both the student and the family members involved. To help ease the burden of college tuition, ResumeGo has launched the ResumeGo Scholarship Program with the goal of awarding scholarships to qualified high school seniors and college students in the communities where the members of our management team grew up.

This is the second year of the ResumeGo Scholarship Program. There are 2 scholarship contests planned each year, with 2 winners selected per contest. The deadline for our current contest is July 1, 2018. Each winner will receive $3000 towards funding his or her college tuition. After our current contest, the next one is scheduled to have a submission deadline on December 1, 2018.

We believe that education can change people’s lives and open up all sorts of amazing opportunities not only for themselves but for others around them. This scholarship is meant to play a small role in helping to do just that. If you have any questions about our application process, please contact us at [email protected]

OFFICIAL RULES

Judging

Academic Achievement: Does the transcript indicate a student who excels academically? Judges will take into account the individual’s GPA, coursework, and all other factors that distinguish an exceptional student.

Other Achievements: Publications, awards, and other notable achievements are all valued and will be taken into consideration when selecting winners.

Short Essays: Judges will evaluate essays based on originality, creativity, grammatical accuracy, and ability to inspire others. There is no formula breaking down the importance of each such criterion. Instead, each essay will be considered in its entirety. Judges will be asking themselves the following questions: Does the essay present an original viewpoint or perspective? How well-written is the essay? Does the essay inspire the reader?

Prize

Two winners are selected out of the pool of applicants. Each winner will receive a scholarship of $3000 which can be applied to the following school-related expenses: tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board. Each winner will be contacted via e-mail, and must respond within 5 days in order to accept the reward. If no response is received within that time frame, another winner will be selected to receive the award instead.

Submission

All contest submissions must be made using the official ResumeGo application form on this webpage. No other types of submission will be accepted. Every section of the online application form must be filled out for the submission to be valid and considered by our judges. All content submitted must be in English. (Note that a transcript is required so that judges are able to evaluate the each student’s academic performance, and any private or sensitive information may be blurred out before you upload it).

I’ve always had a huge interest in stocks and the financial market, so I will be attending a business school. It may seem boring to some, but I see it as just one big mystery to solve. In school, everything that we’re being taught is sort of finite and certain. It’s all formulas and memorization. However, when it comes to the stock market, no one really knows what’s going to happen to the economy. It could go up or down, and the concept of trying to predict the market is something that is really interesting to me.

How did you feel when you found out you won the $3,000 scholarship?

When I got the e-mail saying I was awarded the scholarship, I was in disbelief. After realizing I had actually won, it felt like some of my hard-work is finally paying off and I think I’ll try to use this new boost in confidence as inspiration to keep pushing forward.

What are your thoughts about the short essay questions in our application process?

I liked the questions because they gave me an opportunity to express who I really am. Writing is somewhat strange for me. It can be super fun yet also depressingly boring at the same time. It all depends on what I write about and whether my heart is truly in the topic. I must admit, one of the reasons why I chose to apply for this scholarship is because the essay questions involved topics that I enjoyed writing about.

What education costs will the money be put towards?

This scholarship will help cover my student debt that’ll be piling up. Money is always something that’s on my mind. Unfortunately right now, college tuition is just so high even though I know that in the end, a solid education is something that is priceless. Now I can focus more on my academics and enhancing my knowledge so that I can put it to good use.

What would your advice be to next year’s applicants?

Try to be down-to-earth and talk about issues that you really understand. I admit, it’s tempting sometimes in any writing assignment to just talk about something that allows you to sound eloquent, but your best bet is really to stick with what you know.

Tell us about your academic and career goals in the future.

I’m currently a freshman at college while working part-time for a marketing firm. I do enjoy both working and studying as it gives me the opportunity to expand my horizons in many different areas. Working is quite different from school though. It’s a great opportunity to build up discipline and understand a little bit more about how it’s like out there in the workforce. I’m not exactly sure what I should major in college as I have until my sophomore year to decide.

How did you feel when you found out you won the $3,000 scholarship?

I felt proud, excited, and relieved really. The attainment of a scholarship establishes a level of confidence within one self. As I have been awarded this wonderful scholarship, I now realize the possibility of being awarded others. It’s also great knowing that you’re just one step closer to paying off your student loans. Every bit of savings and earnings count.

What are your thoughts about the short essay questions in our application process?

I felt like the questions were fair and interesting. They forced me to reflect a bit on my own life, and I had a lot of fun answering them.

What education costs will the money be put towards?

It’ll go towards covering my college tuition and paying off my student debt. This scholarship has really helped me get one step further towards being totally debt-free.

What would your advice be to next year’s applicants?

I think scholarships should go to students who really push themselves beyond what they think they are capable of and for those who need it the most financially. It’s important to show that you are someone who is really putting in effort day in and day out, and that’s the type of attitude that should be rewarded. Showing this in the short essay responses will go a long way towards getting the scholarship.

Tell us about your academic and career goals in the future.

My heart and career goals are both in video editing and video creation. Ever since I was a little kid, I was always captivated by the movies and TV shows that I watched. I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be awesome to pursue a career in creating content that will inspire and entertain others. I also want to be successful in other facets in life. I was the captain of my high school’s math team and competed on a national level.

How did you feel when you found out you won the $2,000 scholarship?

It was pretty awesome. Honestly, I don’t remember having won anything like this in my life. So having this achievement is a pretty big deal for me, and will definitely help me out financially.

What are your thoughts about the short essay questions in our application process?

I liked the questions and thought they touched upon interesting topics. Writing isn’t my strong suit but when it’s about topics you like to talk about, it’s not so bad.

What education costs will the money be put towards?

The tuition will go towards buying my course books, which unfortunately are so expensive. The average cost of one of my books is probably around $150 or so, and this scholarship will be able to help me pay for most of the books I’ll need to buy in my college life.

What would your advice be to next year’s applicants?

I believe that if you want something done, you need a vision and a concrete plan. Then set your plan in motion and make sure to never give up until you carry it through.

Tell us about your academic and career goals in the future.

I’m a senior in high school and I’m not really too sure what I want to do in the future. I enjoy playing the drums, painting, and playing soccer. I hope to discover what I want to pursue a career in once I start college.

How did you feel when you found out you won the $2,000 scholarship?

I was honestly quite surprised when I received the email saying that I won. Scholarships are very competitive and there are always so many accomplished students applying. It’s great that some of my hard-work is being noticed and I really would like to thank ResumeGo for this great honor.

What are your thoughts about the short essay questions in our application process?

I found the questions to be quite relevant and a great way of showcasing what each applicant is capable of. I’ve seen some ridiculous questions in other scholarship forms, but I found these questions to be quite enjoyable, so I appreciate the thought that was put in.

What education costs will the money be put towards?

The money will go towards paying for my college tuition.

What would your advice be to next year’s applicants?

Keep working hard and never lose sight of what you’re working towards. We’re just about to start our college journey, and this is really the most crucial time for us in our education. Look for scholarships when you want to do something other than homework because every penny is going to count.
